What You’ll Do

🩺 Uphold a high standard of care for every patient and a respectful, informative experience for every client, across urgent and wellness visits alike👨‍⚕️ Assist veterinarians through the full range of appointments — from routine wellness exams and vaccinations to complex urgent care cases and surgeries
📋 Perform and document complete patient intake assessments and communicate your clinical observations clearly to the attending veterinarian🔬 Collect, prepare, and process laboratory samples — blood panels, urinalysis, fecal testing, cytology, and more — for in-house and reference lab analysis
🐾 Handle and restrain animals humanely and effectively, whether for a scheduled procedure or an unplanned urgent presentation💉 Establish IV access, perform blood draws, set up and monitor fluid therapy, and administer medications intravenously as directed
💊 Accurately prepare, label, and dispense medications following veterinarian instructions, and ensure records and charges are properly completed😴 Monitor anesthetic patients throughout procedures, track vitals, manage recovery, and keep pet owners informed and reassured along the way
🔧 Prepare for and assist with surgeries, dental procedures, and diagnostic imaging, maintaining sterile fields and ensuring all equipment is ready🧹 Maintain a consistently clean, organized, and safe clinic environment through proper sterilization, sanitation, and hazard management practices
💊 Accurately prepare, label, and dispense medications following veterinarian’s instructions, and ensure records and charges are properly completed💻 Document all patient care accurately in the management system and maintain clear, consistent communication with clients and clinical team

Who We’re Looking For

🧠 Experience2+ years of direct patient care experience preferred
📚 ExamsPassed the VTNE or expected to pass soon

Physical & Safety Requirements

This is an active, hands-on role in a busy veterinary setting.

You should be comfortable with:

  • Standing and walking for long periods
  • Working at a computer or workstation for parts of the day
  • Kneeling, crouching, bending, balancing, or crawling when required
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Handling sick, painful, stressed, or fractious animals
  • Exposure to zoonotic diseases, hazardous materials, anesthetic gases, cleaning agents, and radiation
  • Following all clinic safety procedures and WorkSafeNB standards

Compensation & Perks

$26–$30/hr
plus dividend potential
36–44 hrs/week expected
