Therapeutic Exercises are the cornerstone of the rehabilitation program. A specific and regular physical therapy and exercise program — passive range of motion, strength training, light massage — will be designed for your pet to assist in reducing pain, increasing flexibility and mobility, and encouraging recovery.

Hydrotherapy offered in either our indoor pool or underwater treadmill; provides a safe exercise environment for patients recovering from soft tissue injuries or surgery or for patients with osteoarthritis. The water provides resistance and viscosity, which helps to support and strengthen muscles; the buoyancy reduces the amount of weight-bearing on painful joints; and the warmth of the water increases flexibility, mobility, and blood flow, all of which help to promote healing of the joints, and tissues.

If you’re looking for dog water therapy nearby, our facilities are equipped to provide the best care.

Dry Needling or intramuscular stimulation is used to treat muscular pain. Fine, short, stainless needles are placed in acupoints or trigger points to relieve muscle pain or spasms.

Moxibustion consists of burning dried mugwort on particular acupoints. This is done to stimulate circulation, especially in animals with excessive cold conditions (swelling, edema, loose stools, etc.)

Laser Therapy accelerates the healing process. A laser light is delivered through a non-invasive handpiece to the affected area; this sends packets of light energy deep into the tissue. The energy is absorbed within the cell and causes a chemical change called “photo-bio-modulation”. This promotes the production of ATP, which is the fuel, or energy, cells need for repair and rejuvenation. Laser therapy is effective in treating acute pain, chronic conditions, and post-operative pain.

Tui-na Massage (Manual) Therapy is used as the animal begins to heal. The therapist uses his/her finger pressure on acupressure points rather than needles for the management of pain. Tui-na has the bene-fit of relieving muscle tension and promoting the smooth flow of energy (Qi).

Chinese Herbal Medicine (Materia Medica) (a pharmacological reference book used by TCM practitioners) describes thousands of medicinal substances—primarily plants, but also some minerals and animal products. Different parts of plants, such as the leaves, roots, stems, flowers, and seeds, are used. Herbs are often combined in formulas and given as capsules, liquid extracts, granules, or powders.

Food Therapy / Diet recommendations are made when conditions in the body are out of balance. Balanced nutrition is essential for recovery. We provide diet recommendations to restore balance within your pet’s body, ensuring optimal health.
